We replaced the wall-to-wall carpet with a pristine glazed porcelain tile to compliment the wood details, and designed and installed colored tumbled marble medallion insets and sunburst-patterned mosaics to add interest and warmth to the floor.
We then designed, milled and installed customized painted moldings in the space in multiple ornate layers. We encased the brick fireplace with stainable wood mantel spanning the entire width of the fireplace area, with tile surround, featuring slender columns to draw the eye up to the intricate moldings and showcase the artwork. Our artisans faux painted the moldings with contrasting metallic detailing for the frieze work in tones of copper, bronze and gold. Photographs cannot do justice to the splendid effect created by the finished product.
The space now has elegance, but also a warmth that welcomes visitors into this lovely home.
